Growing up in the early 80’s as a kid I was obsessed with professional wrestling. Me and my friends made championship belts out of cardboard boxes and held matches. Before Michael Jordan was a lot of kid’s hero, Rick Flair and Hulk Hogan held that title. The history of wrestling in America goes back almost a hundred years. By the 1950’s the entertainment value of wrestling started to truly rise and by the late 1970’s, wrestling had created stars. Ok, back to the initial question. Do you consider Pro Wrestling a Sport? I ask this because I’ve heard debates in the past for and against Wrestling being considered a “Legit” sport.
MY VERDICT – I do believe Pro Wrestling is a Sport. The physical sacrifice that the wrestlers have to endure can’t be overlooked. They have to run, work on cardio, lift weights, diet appropriately and be focused mentally as well. Yes, the storylines are scripted but I do believe they are legit athletes. There are wrestlers who wrestled in high school and college. There are wrestlers who played Football in High School, College and even Professional Football.

Yep, I agree totally!
Without a doubt it's a sport! U can even factor in the negative aspects (steroid use, injuries) it's the same problems athletes in other sports go thru.
